Did you know that between 50 and 125 million people in the EU are at risk of energy poverty? This is the term used when the proportion of household income that has to be spent on energy supply exceeds certain limits. However, a general definition is lacking. In the EnergyMeasures project, we are addressing the growing problem of energy poverty by mapping affected households in seven European countries. In a further step, strategies are then developed, together with the people concerned, to reduce energy consumption in the long term.
In the EnergyMeasures project, Oikoplus has developed a communication strategy to reach targeted policy makers and stakeholders in Europe. Creative communication formats are at the heart of our work: from videos to engage households to playful ways of communicating energy saving measures – we make communication as entertaining and service-oriented as possible. This has resulted in a series of energy-saving tips that are distributed as social media shareables in multiple languages. We have also developed an energy-saving quartet.
