Syncity

How can urban change be made appealing, equitable and sustainable? As part of the SYNCITY project, we explored opportunities for citizen participation in urban renewal processes, taking a closer look at the Cureghem neighborhood in Brussels. Our goal was to explore new ways to strengthen local communities and make urban change processes more resident-friendly.

Together with our project partners, we developed a toolbox over a period of three years. It offers innovative concepts and practical ideas based on the experience we have gained in Brussels, which makes it particularly valuable for socio-economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. We were able to realize our vision of bringing people together, regardless of their socio-economic or cultural background, to jointly shape their urban environment.
